When I first opened, I was pretty shocked at how young it seemed. Lots of oak and restrained fruit. I decanted, and after an hour it began to show its age. Cigar box, leather, and currant. On the palate it was still fairly bright and mostly primary. Black fruit, some spice, a little vanilla on the back. Unmistakably new world. All in all drinking well for a nearly decade old wine.

Cristom is by FAR my favorite Pinot from Oregon. It's smooth and well balanced. You can drink it on its own or with food. It has a terrific nose of cherry and spice. It's perfect. Cristom does Pinot perfectly. Absolutely excellent wine. And a great price point!
