Cristom
Estate Eola-Amity Hills Syrah
When I first opened, I was pretty shocked at how young it seemed. Lots of oak and restrained fruit. I decanted, and after an hour it began to show its age. Cigar box, leather, and currant. On the palate it was still fairly bright and mostly primary. Black fruit, some spice, a little vanilla on the back. Unmistakably new world. All in all drinking well for a nearly decade old wine.

Mar 30th, 2017Cristom is by FAR my favorite Pinot from Oregon. It's smooth and well balanced. You can drink it on its own or with food. It has a terrific nose of cherry and spice. It's perfect. Cristom does Pinot perfectly. Absolutely excellent wine. And a great price point!
