Craven Wines
Stellenbosch Cinsault
Interesting and fun wine. Reminds me of pinotage without the bretty bandaid character. Light body with cherry cough drop, stems, little earth, dried herbs, wild berry and nice acid. Think they had a typo for the varietal.

From 30-year old bush vine.

Craven Cinsaut 2020: Light-bodied. Light gentle tannins. Bright red fruits, herbs, mild oak & a hint of spice. Nice dry finish. This was a great wine find at my local wholefoods market and I will definitely be returning back for a few more bottles; the pairing potential is endless! Love the brightness & freshness! Truly inspires me to seek and try more South African wines! Have a great weekend! Cheers 🇿🇦🍷

Feb 11th, 2022Interesting red, but pair wisely with food! It’s lighter than anticipated but still has a lot of flavor.

Apr 15th, 2021Translucent magenta color that immediately communicates the freshness of the wine. Crunchy, underripe cranberry, raspberry, and blueberry with fresh soil and rainwater. Medium + acid, low tannin, low alc, but not lacking structure - delicious. Bottle disappeared before we knew it.

Jan 14th, 2021Never tried this grape. Didn’t know it was from South Africa. Reminds me of a floral Pinot noir. I bought at wholefoods because bottle was pretty and taste notes on display mentioned violets. I love this type of wine. I hope they have more. I want to buy again.
