On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading GERSHWIN (Piano Concerto in F), GERSHWIN (Variations on “I Got Rhythm,” for piano and orchestra) and STRAVINSKY (Petrushka) with the amazing Jean-Yves Thibaude as the piano soloist on the two first works presented today. Jean-Yves is by far among our favorite pianists to grace the Koussevitzky Shed stage, so graceful, yet poignant!
Hot days call for cool wines, today there are some fun ones planned for sharing.
Very interesting, almost like a wine version of a kriek lambic, yum yum!

Red White Pink is the name of this wine because it’s a mix of everything. Seriously there’s Syrah and Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo and Sauv Blanc, Pinot Gris and maybe one or two other grapes. The result is a delicious fruity and bright (almost jolly rancher like but not quite there) wine that finishes with this beautifully structured jalapeño bite. Absolutely in love with this wine.

Soda fountain suicide - this is that. RedWhitePink is a suicide of six grapes - Pinot Gris, Mondeuse, Viognier, Blaufrankisch, Ribolla, Gruner. Reds treated like red, whites like white, then blended. It’d be “illegal” in Europe, hence the wine’s nickname. It’s kind of a mind trip but any singular reference point would probably lead you to Tavel.
Glowing magenta. Sour cherry lozenge, bitter blood orange, mild woodsy notes and grippy tannins.
And of course, Dr. Pepper at the end.

Amazing wine. It might be illegal in Europe but I’m sure glad it’s not in the US. So good chilled on a hot summer night.

Fuck, this wine is good. Super balanced for lots of grapes. Taste of berries verbena lemonade and summer goodness.
