The Franc Lodi Cabernet Franc

Blend of 75% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petite Verdot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petite Sirah, deep Ruby red color, purple edges, with aromas of black fruits, baking spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and ripe black cherry with pepper, oak, cacao and floral notes. Fine savory tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak and spice.

Pencil lead, wild berry, dried herbs, oak spice(cinnamon, clove, sawdust), medium bodied, with nice acid. California fruit with French earth.

Very pretty ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.
Fruity nose of currants, plums, blueberries, earth, vegetables, graphite, spices, bitter herbs and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, currants, oak, smoke, tobacco leaf, spices, peppercorn and chocolates.
Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice California Red. Not fully balanced, but has some complexity. Not a typical Cab Franc, as it didn't show much of the bell pepper I usually find. Showing a soft and gentle mouthfeel.
I paired it with a spinach and basil flat bread.
100% Cabernet Franc grapes from Lodi, California were aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels for 20 months.

Cab Franc is my go to and for the price, this will not disappoint. Highly recommend for the franc fans.
