Corra
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep inky in color with a short reddish rim.
Spicy and pretty nose of black fruits, cedar, vanilla, chocolates, toast, tobacco, bell pepper, coffee and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with black currants, cooked cherries, blackberries, sweet plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs and Indian spices.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, but not aggressive. Powerful and fruit forward with nice complexity.
This 6 year old Cabernet is still young, but starting to drink beautifully now. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Robert Parker 97 points.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly, and bring in complexity and structure. Loved smelling on it once it opened up.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 22 months in (70% new) French Oak barrels. A small production of only 350 cases.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
93 points
$160.

09’ Last time we enjoyed this was a few years back. Amazing how this wine has turned. Truly a PNP at this point.

Oct 11th, 2018Super silky tannins and with that ripeness that surely was meant to appeal to many palates including my own several years ago.
This is a solid and very good wine in no immediate danger of falling off the cliff.
However as with many of the high octane Napa cult CS that I started to stock up on 15+ years ago I’ve realized that I’m often lacking a bit of “personality” over time and would suggest to pop the corks and enjoy this over the next 1-2 years.

09’ Corra Cabernet.
100% Cabernet From Rutherford,Oakville, Pritchard Hill. Decant for at least an hour! Blowing off a bit of sediment.
Without a doubt one my favorite Napa 2009’s.
Color-Dark ruby red/purple.
Just quite expressive from the very fist sip. Dark black fruits, dark chocolate flavors. Violet, tobacco leaf, tar.
Medium body, with silky tannins & nice length. 10 years in it. I do love Celia Welch wines!
