There's some tension in this Napa Chardonnay, and by that I mean that there is little fat on the palate, even though I'd class this as a full-bodied white. Generous notes of hazelnut, bosc pear, orange blossom, and marzipan throatily echo on the nose and palate, where toast meets grippy acidity that expands and crescendos to reveal wet shell and walnut on the finish. Battonage has added refinement and texture, and the liberal use 90% new French oak, while prominent, feels integrated. 14.0% AVB | Sample

No malo. Light and delicate, very pure. Chablisian. Feminine and delicious.

Coquerel Chardonnay 2011: a bit of creaminess, like lemon pie. A kiss of oak. If there's a lot of ML, I can't tell. Balanced, baby! River Rock.

Nutcream, more oak than I typically like but not overpowering. Fuck FL

A bit crisp. Representative of old world Chardonnay. Lemon/lime and slate. Almost Sauvignon Blanc-esque. Surprising.i wanted a Chardonnay and got something from Loire valley which is fine if that is what you are looking for. Lower points only for the bait and switch.
