This was an exceptionally nice wine. Very youthful, just picking up secondary flavors. Cornas-like olive and smoke for the first couple hours. Opened up to blackberries and cassis. Despite my initial hesitation with early years Copain, this was very well balanced.

Picked up on the cheap. $24. Delivers. Dark fruits. Toasted oak vanilla and burnt wood. Great value. Fading. Drink up.

On the downhill slide for me. Great nose of Dried flowers and orange peels, but the midpalate just falls away. Drink up now.

Feb 6th, 2016Absolutely singing right now. At a perfect point. I don't see it getting much better. Bacon fat and dark fruits on the nose, lush but precise dark fruit and bacon in the mouth, with dried flowers and roses. Long finish.
