Mushroom and a whiff of red raspberry to start. Perky, youthful acidity immediately on the palate. Elegant, on the lighter side. Not overly complex but it has impressive resonance on the long finish. Clean and balanced. 13% abv. Decanted not long before first pour. Bought at winery.

During a visit to Burgundy in 2013 we ended up sending home two mixed cases from wineries we enjoyed. This was our last of the bunch. Still youthful, this elegant and refreshing Pinot brought back some great memories and went deliciously with braised chicken thighs. Time to go back to Burgundy!

2005 vintage in August 2018. Brilliant wine. Just brilliant. Give it time to open up and don’t hurry. I have two more bottles and they’re laying down until 2025 at least.

What a difference 5 years makes! MUCH less fruit than the 06 but still delicious in its own way.
