Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here's a fruity one from Washington State.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, light oak, blackberries, black cherries, earth, light vanilla, spices, pencil lead, chocolates, bitter herbs, light vegetables and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, dark chocolates, wood, earth, vegetables, black licorice, peppercorn and spices.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice Cabernet from Columbia Valley. Nicely balanced with mild complexity.

Good right out of the bottle, but after an hour of airtime, it gets nice structure with tannins and complexity.

Peaking now and would be nice in the next year or two.

I paired it with barbecue T-bone steak and vegetables.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$14.

Dark ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.

On the nose, blueberries, black currants, oak, licorice, vanilla, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, leather, bell pepper, celery, herbs, river rocks and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, light vanilla, vegetables, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice Cabernet from Washington State. Not fully balanced with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Needs 30 minutes to open up properly. Peaking now, and will not last too long. A good food wine too.

I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 5% Syrah, 3% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

Nice dark red. Berry and cherries. A bit too much mocha and vanilla. Pretty smooth and easy to drink. Has a cola streak. Would go well with a hot chocolate or dark chocolate croissant. Tannic kick comes last. For new world Cab it’s plenty fine.

Tastes and aromas of Cherries and finishes off with black currants. Bold and quite smooth for
A young wine. To top it off .. a good wine for all occasions.

Black currant and blackberry notes give this nice red a fruity essence that finishes with a little hint of cocoa. Nice sipping wine on a cool night with a fire!

Dark ruby in the glass. Medium body, fine grained tannins. I’m getting notes of blueberry, blackberry cocoa, earth, the bold flavours linger on the finish. A very solid Washington Cab for under $20 CAD.
