On this Tuesday night I have opened the 2017 Colene Clemens Dopp Creek Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.

On the palate there is cherry, raspberry, a funk note, cinnamon, baking spice, rose petals and wet leaves.

On the palate there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, mushroom, smoky oak and crushed gravel

This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium + refined smooth tannins that leads to a long fruity finish. Thanksgiving is upon us and we all have a lot to be thankful for. Please over this holiday be safe and enjoy your families. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

My first taste of the 2017 vintage. Showing beautifully in youth. Sappy red fruit out front with firm acidic structure to add brightness and freshness. Shows plenty of power and will be a great wine for years to come. Paired with one of the excellent volumes from Tompkins Square showcasing American acoustic guitarists. The “private press” showcased here are largely unknown & obscure players from the 60s to the 80s. Excellent & approachable just like this wine.
