The 2021 Pinot Noir Estate Dopp Creek opens with a dark, dusty bouquet blending cedar shavings and brown spice with blood orange and sour cherries. Softly textured and round, it opens with a pretty inner sweetness complementing rose-tinged red fruits. It finishes fresh with a raspberry and licorice tinge as a bump of residual acidity adds a lasting, lively character. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2024)

This is a terrific Pinot noir and value priced as well. It has a beautiful silky texture, Form acidity, soft tannins and loads of red cherry, raspberry, strawberry and cranberry red fruit with lovely violet, crushed rose petal, forest floor, and a notable amount of Clive, vanilla and cinnamon. It isn’t at all over-oaked, just a beautiful balance of fruit and spice. Beautiful now, it should also sage gracefully for another five or six years, but it will be hard to wait!

Located in the western end of Dopp Road where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge, medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits and enticing spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry and wild cherry with pepper, toasty spice and earthy notes. Young with fine integrated tannins, well defined, elegant with underlying richness, long finish ending with oaky notes. Nice value, will age well!

Moderately extracted, purple red in color. Cherry and slightly smoky barrel tar aromas, cherry-berry flavors. More fruit, less barrel please. Good acid, slightly hot, slightly buttery, smoky finish, light skin astringency. Tasty, but for the first jour, at least, not my preferred style of Oregon Pinot. Umami-soy sauce and blackberry flavors emerge after an hour; nice complexity if you have the patience to wait for it.

A real winner. Tried 3 bottles, all were consistently great! Located in the western end of Dopp Road where the Chehalem Mountains converge with Ribbon Ridge, medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits and enticing spice. On the palate ripe raspberry and wild cherry with pepper, baking spice and earthy notes. Young with integrated tannins, well defined, elegant with underlying richness, long finish ending with flinty notes. Nice value! Tried several bottles, now starting to develop more complex spice.
