In a blind tasting this was clearly New World with a forward aroma I described as "robust." Medium body, medium acidity, forest floor, violet, a bit of oaky spice and a whiff of lavender. Surprisingly light tannins. Not subtle but very tasty

Incredible nose - this was the perfect balance between old and new world. Cherries, leather, earth, some spices (cinnamon?). Medium-light bodied.

Really remarkable quality of Pinot Noir coming out of the Central Otago region of NZ. It is light to medium body, great red berry fruit, with good balance a very nice finish. Way more complex than their already great Marlborough Pinot. Keep up the good work Cloudy Bay, I love your wines!

Young, but will be so good in a few years. Score is based on potential. If drinking now needs a long decant.

A beautiful PN from a producer I’m only familiar with through their Sauvignon Blanc. Lovely minerality, crushed lavender, eucalyptus, and moist earth.

Mediocre Pinot Noir, fine but not worth $80. No better than my $20 Burgundy.

Woodsy nose with hints of tree bark, newly split branches, and sawdust meshes with a black cherry finish.
