The 2020 Clos René has developed into a powerful, structured wine, much moreso than it was from barrel. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather and licorice are all amplified. This potent, deep Pomerol needs time to soften, that is for sure. There is a lot of wine here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2023

The wine last night was the 2015 Clos René Pomerol Right Bank Bordeaux. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec.

On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, black currant, violets, anise, faint hints of oak and earth.

On the palate there is bkack cherry, black raspberry, plum, blaxk currant, licorice, minerals and earth.

This is a full bodied wine with a silky smooth mouthfeel, medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that moves into a long dark fruit earthy finish. As we move firmly into spring and into this coming weekend lets enjoy our lifes fortunate new beginnings. Let us keep or eyes, minds and hearts open to all lifes new rewards. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Deep dark ruby, dark fruit blackberries and cherries, leather and tannins. Beautiful wine.

Dark purple red… classic Bordeaux. Full bodied but bouquet opens up so nicely to notes of blackcurrant, plum, leather and cinnamon. Spicy but elegant tannins.

Still going strong at age 12. I don’t know if there is room for further improvement but definitely not in it’s tertiary phase
