Côtes de Castillon Red Bordeaux Blend

Modern in style without being bombastic or jammy. Silky and warm with woodspice and a mineral touch.

Drank 2/19/18. Paired with roasted chicken.

The nose of sweet stewed plums and red berries is quite expressive. Still present, but mild, well integrated tannins lend structure to cassis and earth flavors. Medium finish. This could go a few more years, but is in a sweet spot now. I dont think it will improve further, so drink now. Fully mature.

A wine should never be a meal...but when drinking Côtes De Castillon all bets are off. Right Bank enthusiasts will likely score much higher.

Fully mature nose of stewed black and red fruits. Palate of cassis, pencil lead, and old oak. medium body with nice concentration of mature fruit.

Solid effort with virtually no signs of bottle age. This well made wine has many many moons ahead

Definitely ready to drink. Ruby with slight purple reflections, slow legs. Blackberry, sour cherry, stone dust. No evidence of new oak, as far as I can smell. Fruit is a bit shy on the palate, medium tannins, high acidity, some sweetness. Finish is medium long, bitter chocolate, acidic, cherries. After one hour, it opened some more an my was savory, maybe beef blood, pepper. 50+4+12+16+7=91

Perfectly aged. Balanced and still I bit of fruit. Long finish. Tried to pick out the cab franc from merlot and cab.

Chocolate flavor. Cherries. Very good wine. Great finish. Drinking a 2005. Drink it quickly.
