May 4th, 2021From the Right Bank of the Gironde River in St Emilion, dark Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits with spicy notes. In the palate flavors of blackberry and plum flavors with espresso and smoky cacao notes. Firm ripe tannins ending with a medium spicy finish. Good now!

Jan 13th, 2021It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Here is a nice one from Bordeaux.
Showing red and blue fruits with earth, wood, spices, peppercorn, tobacco and coffee.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very nice Merlot based red wine from Bordeaux. Still young and needs another 5 years to mature properly.
Still unbalanced and better with food. A Good quality wine, nice and engaging.
Needs a few hours to open up properly.
Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
A blend of 80% Merlot and the rest are Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
14% alcohol by volume.

Clos Labarde is a 4.5ha estate a stone throw from Pavie. 16’ is the last vintage before it’s sold to an insurance company for a cool $3.5m/ha.

Jun 2nd, 2021Deep ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, creme de cassis, vanilla, cedar, nutmeg, anise, earth, leather, morel mushroom. Well-integrated flavors and great balance. Lovely complement to a truffle-driven meal with chicken Kiev, risotto, and roasted asparagus. Happy (belated) Birthday @lizziehammes ♥️♥️♥️
