Cahors Malbec

2019 - Vintage -Cahors- 80%-Malbec & 20%-Merlot - aged 1 year in two year old foudre ( large oak barrels)dark color violet rim at this stage big plum and black Cherry fruit with slight currant fruit flavors with rose petal and slight oak background fun wine

Flavorful French Malbec at Rochambeau in Boston

Considering buying a case. in my palate preference and great winter wine.

[80% Cot (Malbec), 20% Merlot] This KLWM import is still an inky dark purple at age 26, seems less structured/tannic than vintages I purchased back in the 1980s/1990s (the Merlot??), but even at 12.5% this shows intense black fruits, somewhat of a soft middle, lingering finish, really a lovely French rouge that suggests to me it’ll still be kicking in 15-20 more years. I honestly think if @Tom Casagrande was drinking this with me now, without seeing the label, he’d be asking me whether the vintage wasn’t really 1900? Maybe lacks the complexity of a great Bordeaux, but definitely a throwback wine!!

A very pleasant Cahors Malbec. Fruit is dark and overripe. Plum, blueberry, macerated strawberries. Maybe some melon and licorice. A little lacking in acidity.
Listening to Oasis. 32 years ago today they introduced themselves to the world with Supersonic.

Quite nice wine with a dinner on a Friday evening, flavorful, fresh fruit.

Flavorful Malbec with lamb (17) from the southwest of France.

[80% Malbec, 20% Merlot] Redfruits, good balance, not as tannic or backward as the Madiran, medium-long finish, solid Cahors!

Nice red fruit nose, but syrupy and sweeter on the palate with a Sangria like profile.
