Châteauneauf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

One of my fav houses. This — 2013 — had lost some of that grippiness and garrigue though. Waited too long. But still good.

I'm not normally a CDP drinker but this lovely wine is fresh and very balanced. I could get into this region of this was the style.

A little bretty and starting to dry out a bit.

Authentic Mediterranean aromas, very pure and transparent and energetic.

Really nice full body

Drinking with Mom and Dad for Christmas 2022. Doing a side-by-side with their La Cuvee Du Papet 2015. Color is dark red, garnet more than ruby, legs are beautiful. Nose is more minimal than I expected, but definitely dark fruit, black to red. The bouquet of spices is more cinnamon and warm than I expected as well. Very dry, but a bright and juicy tartness. It fades into that rough feeling on your tongue. Tobacco and leather are there but the raspberry is strong. Truly an exceptional wine, would definitely drink again. $49 at Blanchards

The ‘86 is approachable.

Super delicate

Lovely ripe redfruits, shows some sur maturite for sure, but still excellent balancing acidity, this is the regular cuvée, but has aged beautifully.
