Dry fruits, tar, mint. Kind of unwieldy but in a good way.

I know, I know...it’s really not fair to rate this because it’s so stinking young. That being said, you can still get a good idea of where this will go...amazing potential. Could easily creep up to a 9.5. The nose on this is insane...mimics a high end RRV Pinot. Cedar, sweet tobacco, rhubarb. Acid is very balanced. The finish is very dominant of black pepper and peppercorn. Some beef jerky. Finish is mainly one dimensional that way, but you can tell it will evolve beautifully.

I simply love this expression of Clos des Papes. It’s so fresh and pure with abundant red fruit and a healthy hillside of garrigue. So much tension. Just lovely. Why hold when you can drink these beauties right now.

Red fruit, licorice, tobacco. Slick palate with serious finish. Wow

F-ing outstanding! Great bday btl. #holy cow this was a treat. Strong strawberry, bell pepper, some sweetness w/ light hay/straw? Long palate.

Deep garnet in color and a little brown at the edges.Red fruits, cherries and strawberries on the nose. Very smooth mouthfeel with light tannins. Still very good but this bottle was starting to show its age. My score 9.0

A bit transparent red. Grenache rich aroma, fresh raspberry. Fruity. But enough concentration. Sweet, cherry. 2014 @2650, Xiaduo - XH , 201017-201031

Was feeling upon first tastes was that this was pleasant but below expectations. Then a friend brought out a 2017 Dilecta Tiller that is 100% central coast Grenache, which blew us and this du Pape away. So long du Pape.

Yes, yes too young. But, this was too fruit forward for us tonight. Maybe that’s the vintage...? Either way, I’ve tasted this with the wine maker which makes it that much better and meaningful.
