Star bright straw gold. Inviting nose of dried apple and classic Chenin straw. Echoed strongly on the light-bodied palate which adds some dusty dry marzipan. Bright, medium plus acidity; moderate finish (slightly longer as it warms, of course). It’s Vouvray, but it’s dry! In other words, classic Middle Loire Chenin Blanc that’s ready for almost all white wine foods (might be overwhelmed by roasted pork). Drink now through 2024.

Blind tasting night - called it wrong but I got the country and vintage right. I called Pinot Gris, due to all the pear, peach, and green apple notes, but there was a light spice note as well. Other varietals considered were Gewurztraminer, and Alboriño.. for some reason I didnt consider Chenin, but I ended up on Pinot Gris from Alsace. None the less, great wine choice, and I guess I need to taste more Vouvray sec.

Ripe fruit with earthy tones. On the palate apple and melon with sweet notes, off-dry with higher acidity noted. Medium finish, creamy ending with a mineral character. Just OK. Tasting Sample.
