This is a blend of Niellucciu 80% – Grenache 15% – Syrah 5%. Nose has a lot going on. Licorice, dark berries, tree bark, cracked rocks. Almost Bandol-like. Rustic, tannic feel in the mouth, but not so much as to detract. Dark fruit and dark stoney flavors. Very clingy. Very good.
UPDATE: As this gains air, the tannins are receding and richer fruit is showing through.

Red fruit-forward, herbal, tannic. Similar in profile to a Chianti Classico, but a little sweeter. With soy-scallion burgers, Sriracha mayo and roasted Yukon gold potatoes in soy sauce and butter.
