See previous note from June 2019. Red florals, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) and a little pepper. More Syrah than Shiraz if you know what I mean. The medium +bodied palate showing red and blue fruits with savoury spices. Clonakilla is very much more known for their stellar Shiraz/Viognier ( the best Cuvée of that blend in Australia). However this 100% Syrah is a wonderful expression. I’m considering the current release. Next bottle in a few years.

Continuing my theme of Australian cool climate Shiraz - this from the Canberra District. Considered by many to be as good as Clonakilla’s flagship Shiraz Viognier. Nose of pepper and spice with red fruits. On the palate cherry and spice with earthy mineral notes finishing with persistent fine Tannins. A very good cool climate Australian Shiraz in the mould of a Saint Joseph or Cote Rotie. NB Delectable this is Clonakilla Syrah. Not offered in your choices.

Plummy Floral and spicy notes - was more peppery 5 years ago. Lovely cool climate Syrah with ripe grapes - the perfect combination IMO. Silky smooth medium weight palate with totally resolved Tannins. Good intensity but not heavy - fine boned and long. A beautiful wine.
