From the costco wine Advent Calendar. I believe this is Day 13. I pick based on what I cook and this was ok with a pork loin.
On the nose, a bit of black cherry, some baking spice, and a soil. I don't detect much oak influence here. Certainly not bad, but the flavors are a bit muted. Black cherry and earth. Finishes dry and tannic. Long finish just not tons of flavor. You could get more for your money and a better example of the grape with a kirkland rioja.

Costco advent calander day 13
Medium ruby color
Nose:red plum, fig, blueberry, rosemary,
Taste: red cherry, blackberry, cranberry, med acid, grippy tannins, ends with a faint hint of vanilla, not very big on any flavors and a bit watery but not bad

Day whatever from the Costco wine advent calendar
Had with a Spanish albondigas and patatas bravas and the wine paired well. The tannins held up well with the tomato sauce. Wine was kind of one dimensional, had a musty undertone. Full bodied and dry. Distinctly Spanish with potent oak.
