It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark purple in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.
Full bodied, elegant and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, herbs, peppercorn, chocolates, light earth and tobacco leaf.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Nicely balanced and fruit forward. Rich, opulent and spicy.
Loved the palate more than the nose, and this doesn't happen too often for me.
This 9 year old is showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. A fabulous wine.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle too.

A great wine to have all by itself. Will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

Super impressive. Sweet blue fruits, charcoal, earth, and cola. A touch of tannin left.

Came in 2nd in a little wine tasting I conducted! Nice nose and very refined. Good cherry and plum flavors, but lacked depth and boldness. Not bad, but expected more at this price range. Actually think this would be better if you Pnp versus decanting for an hour. Wish it showed better.

Aug 17th, 2017Smooth , so smooth. Paired tonight with smoked ribs , garlic smash and roast peppers / mushrooms. This has to be one of my all time favorites. Thanks to our dear friends for the gift!
