Third red wine at Table #1 at Oakton Wine Shops Bucket List Tasting.

Dark purplish ruby red that completely coats the glass. A bit mute to start on the nose, with petrol to start with some tight dark berries. Heavy tannins (7/10) and solid acidity. Quite a bit of oak on the palate with red cherries, touch of earth, and twigs. Medium plus to full bodied. Very dry and long finish. Needs a little more time to fully develop. Drink from 2018 till 2028.

From this past weekend. A quick decant and this was ready to roll. Dark fruit aromas led to berry pie and dried herbs. The tannins have softened, but still an intense wine. From #theunionhotel

One of the few fruit forward wines that I love. Spring mountain flower bouquet to the nose but brings a monster flavor. Charred fruit with a leathery aftertaste. This smooth wine brings the noise and leaves you wanting more.
