Black cherries, cloves, leather and tar. It's a ripe, overt Napa Cab that has an attractive balance and surprisingly silly tannins. Approachable now but would be happy to cellar this for a while longer.

Enjoyed at Simon and The Whale in NYC paired with the Simon Burger, which was beautifully prepared, if rather fussy with endless aiolis and such like.

Two hours post-decant and it’s just starting to sing, but not loudly. Bright red cherry fruit walking hand-in-hand with black tea and tobacco. Silky but grippy tannins, and a sotto voce line of acid that makes this wine almost impossible to put down. Getting brighter and lighter by the minute. Moving from power to elegance. Such a treat.

Wasn’t ready Friday night. Very tight. Much better on Sunday night. Back to usual clone 7 excellence.

Drinking well after it opens up. Will age well now.

Pretty great after sitting in a hallway wine rack at a neighbors home. A testament as to the resiliency resilancy of good wine.
