First choice tonight was actually an 07 Ch Montelena Estate but it opened in a worrisome fashion so I grabbed this, hoping it wasn't too tight and young. It wasn't. Soft, smooth, accessible, and with delightful structure and concentration. Tannins and finish are both subtle. Very well made. A lucky grab at the last minute.

Deep, inky reddish purple. I smell baking spices and muddled dark fruit. Full and balancing slightly sweet, tannin present right at the end. A gift from a coworker after a rough week.

This was a fantastic wine, that did not disappoint. A rich taste and a bold mouthful , with a long finish.

Great nose. Initially tastes a hair ripe and needing another couple years to add subtlety. After an hour of getting air, it did get better. Admittedly expected more however.
