1 person found it helpfulJul 18th, 2019It's time for #MerlotThursday! Let's do it with a California Merlot.
Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Soft nose of black currants, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices and metals.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate and fruity with blueberries, cherries, plums, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, chocolates, leather, earth and peppercorn.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice California Merlot. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Spicy with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, but as it opens up (45 minutes) more tannins comes in.
Wine Enthusiasts 89 points.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
14.3% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$15.
