Chateau Souverain
California Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a simple Cabernet Sauvignon from California.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate.
Showing black currants, cooked plums, light oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, alcohol and peppercorn.
Short finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.
A little unbalanced and feels very hot at this point, but easy drinking and good for parties.
Rich and fruit forward.
Not my style anymore, but very approachable, nevertheless.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$14.

Lots of mineral and slate on the nose. Pomegranate upfront with caramel and mulling spices on the mid palate. Finishes with some burnt sugar and mineral dryness. Toasting to the new house!

Taste of BlackBerry and plums, with a hint of vanilla. Medium acidity, short finish.
A little too bitter for my tastes, but still drinkable. This one won't make my favorites list, but ill give it a q.p.r rating of 8 for its $8.99 price.
I'm going to pair it with a chicken and pasta skillet meal. We shall see?
