Ridiculous good.

On the nose; honeysuckle, beeswax, oily, marmalade, dry pineapple, stone fruits, caramel apple, orange rind, lime, lemon, light chalky minerals, yellow lilies and spring flowers.

The body is full & thick. The structure, tension, length and balance are near its peak. honeysuckle, beeswax, oily, marmalade, dry pineapple, stone fruits, caramel apple, orange rind, lime, lemon, light chalky minerals, yellow lilies and spring flowers. The acidity is round and perfect. The long finish is; oily & waxy, rich, lush, elegant and persistent for minutes.

Photos of, Chateau Smith-Haut Lafite, their beautiful Hotel (the best place to stay in the Left-bank if price is no object), their newer concrete tanks (back to concrete) and beautiful barrel room.

Spicy preserved lemons, quince and apricot, waxy lanolin, whiffs of honey, saffron, tropical flowers, vanilla and marzipan. Dense structure, lovely acidity and minerality in the finish. In Its prime!

Modern and new-worldly. Dense, rich, oily and complex. Candied citrus peel, honeysuckle, marmelade and tropical nuances. Drinking at peak now.
Gorgeous wine.

Although only 5% Semillon, that varietal has a strong impact here, giving a touch of sweetness and extra volume. With some air, this delicate aromas of dried herbs and spice. The inner mouth perfume really explides on the finish.

Tight, nervous, not as tropical as I remember. Great wine, very interesting and complex.

Open and flattering. Floral, oaky, tropical. No depth, lots of concentration. Drink now.
