Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

It is good and intense, of course it is 2001. Honeysuckle, lemon peel, good acidity, a bit oxydized. Very good effort not up to what 2001 could have produced but quality wine.

Still haven't found a 2001 that I didn't like.

At restaurant Pollevie - Turkish fruit, good balance, with crème brulé from foie gras

citrus blossoms, honey, lemon pledge, woolly ~ sultanas, citrus hard candies, apricot preserves

From a half bottle. Well aged and nice balance for a sauterne. Never felt overdone

Really enjoyable with the multiple styles of desserts that we had. Not too sweet.. unlike most Sauternes that I have had. Very nice

Excellent desert wine, long on the back not overly sweet. Good with tart tatin.

Disappoinrment here with its orange fruit profile and its simple attack. Lacking botrytis and ultimately complexity. A more confectionary example of the 2001 Sauternes, a big step down feom the Suduiraut. Dramatically over-rated by critics.
