Tonights wine is the 2018 Chateau Sansonnet. Saint-Émilion Right Bank. A blend of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose there are plush black fruit of black cherry, blackberry, plum sauce, black currant, vanilla, mocha, violets and mineraly soil.

On the palate I am receiving notes of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, greenbell pepper, herbs, vanilla and gravelly soil.

This is a full bodied wine with a rich velvety mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + smooth supple tannin that leaves you with a long black fruit rich gravelly soil finish. This looks like a cooler than normal rainy Halloween weekend. I hope your weekend is full of joy and happiness. Please be safe and healthy and enjoy your Halloween. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

2018 vintage. Settling down a little bit since last visit 10.24.21. Medium/medium-heavy body. Starts off Napa, finishes Right bank. Velveteen and hazelnut nose. Slacker tannic presence. Still fairly flashy yet substantial-esp for the price. Tremendous value and drinking slightly better than nearly seven months ago.

2018 vintage. Precious nose. Medium body. Can’t decide if it wants to finesse/pickpocket things or drop the pizazz bomb since it tries to rock both. Solid juice but I’ve got absolutely zero idea where it ends up in 3 years. 7 years. A decade. Two. A wine at a crossroads early on. Drinking deliciously now tho.
