St. Georges-St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Right bank, 70% Merlot 30% Cabernet Franc. Really enjoy this bottling. Smooth and complex. Blackberry, black cherry, wet dirt, tobacco.

70% MERLOT, 30% Cab Franc. Delicious right bank Bordeaux. Red fruit, little cedar with a smooth finish.

Smoky nose. Full body, dry, moderate tannins. Plums and coffee on palate. Nice.

Easy drinking. Would purchase a case.

Oh Bordeaux! It really is hard to beat a good Merlot / Cab Franc blend. This one’s 70 / 30 and surprisingly big. The Merlot may have been picked ripe, but was the Cab Franc? A glance at the back label is a bit of a shock: 14.5%! Don’t drink on an empty stomach.

Solid Bourdeux. 2016. $22.99. Needs time to breathe. Smooth, well balanced. Would purchase more at this price or lower.

First floor on the nose , but too young. Tannins are still stronger than the fruit mouthfeel can handle.
