The 2019 Poesia has the richest and most opulent bouquet with precocious black cherry, glycerine, lavender and violet aromas, bursting from the glass and gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with plush, ripe tannins. There is a lot of puppy fat here, rounded and perhaps "sexy" compared to the 2018, mouth-filling and voluminous. This will need time. Tasted at the Poesia vertical in Saint-Émilion. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2022)

The 2016 Poesia has a similar nose to the 2015 with its vivacious red fruit (wild strawberry, cranberry jus and fresh blueberries) intertwined with touches of vanilla pod and mint. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, very pliant tannins. Approachable in style, this Poesia caresses and seduces with its velvety texture and plush, yet focused finish that offers a little more mineralité. Gorgeous. Bang on great right out of the bottle. This probably won't reach the potential of the Talbot in the long term, but it's right there ... Now. Also deep and opaque in appearance. Less fruit on the nose. Pepper, briar patch, and a subtle black licorice. This wine seems to already have settled into it's complete incarnation. Of course with it's medium acidity and solid alcohol level, maybe it gets better with age, but pop and pour it now just in case.

Tonight I have gone back to the wines I love, Bordeaux. I have opened the 2018 Château Poesia, a right bank Bordeaux that is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose there is black plum, black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, chocolate, a good minerality and earth.

On the palate I am getting black cherry, black plum, black raspberry, black currant, herbal notes, oak, spice, bell pepper abd rich earthy notes.

This wine is full bodied smooth and well structured, medium+ acidity and medium + fine grained tannins that lead to a fresh long dark fruit earthy finish. I hope everyone has a great weekend and please keep safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Lots of finesse but also displaying the power and opulence of the vintage. Plum, cassis, mocha, cigar box, leather and espresso notes are most prominent. Gaining more length and red fruit character with air. Acid and tannins are fine tuned and already showing elegance. Lovely.

Rich and opulent, red & black fruits, kind of fleshy but really focused too w/med+ acidity; chocolate too; hard to put down. 70 Merlot 30 cab franc. At $36 from garagiste: a steal.

NOSE: dead mouse (mild, not as scary as it sounds, but to be fair, not delicious) — licorice, cassis, blackberry, dark earth.

TASTE: more austere and mature than the nose would suggest … good streak of acidity, “polished” tannins (old, varnished wood), black cherry and blackberry … elegant. Age would be nice, but ... 93!

3.6. Vibrant almost explosive Saint Emilio’s. Quite an experience. Highly rated. On sale for $33.59, regularly $41.99. Worth the splurge.

Berries on the nose, smooth tannins, and dark berries on the palate. Good acidity suggest continued development.
