2019 vintage. Tasted alongside the 2019 Clos Marsalette, this is less flashy, but more refined. An elegant Olivier with impeccable balance and charm that sells for a song. Abv. 14,5%.

1989 vintage. Not in the same league as the recent vintages, but held up surprisingly well.

2018 vintage. Tasted two of the oldest estates in Bordeaux alongside (the other being Cantemerle 2018) and Olivier is the clear winner in the same price category. This estate has been on a hot streak for the last few years and it is incredible value at less than 40 euros. It's a very big estate (220 hectares), but only 60 hectares are under vine (52 Red and 8 white). Black and red fruits, spices and marzipan in the nose. Concentrated and layered, combining power with elegance, a serious ripe tannic structure and a long spicy finish. Highly recommended.

Drank 6/3/21. Excellent with a ribeye.

Plums and earth on the nose. Palate is round and flavorful with juicy plum, blackberry, and earth. Well integrated tannins. Finishes with dark fruit that lasts around 40 seconds. Drink now and over the next 3-5 years.

4/22/8/4/4 +50 = 92 pts.

The 2015 vintage is great in Pessac-Léognan and this is no exception. While the nose is still a bit understated, in the mouth it already shines with layers of fruit and spices, velvety tannin, impeccable balance and serious length. Terrific value at less than 30 euros. Highly recommended.

Lovely! Opened in 30 minutes a 1989 great vintage. Cork was perfect and typical graves earth and tight dense dark fruit, gooseberries. With my lamb shank it was great match!

The Seigniory of Olivier dates back to the 12th century. The Château is surrounded by moats and an immense forest. Deep color with aromas of fruit and sweet floral spices, elegant nose. On the palate strawberry and blackberry flavors with pepper and tangy citrus notes. Tight tannins with cedar, well balanced with acidity, lingering ending with mineral character. Give this some time in the bottle. Nice Value!

In a blind tasting I thought this was gruner. The grassy notes were mild enough to make me think “arugula” and thus I went gruner but no! This is just as less obnoxiously grassy savvy b. Probably the semillon mitigating that. The take home message is I need to sample more Bordeaux Blanc because this is fantastic

Really intriguing. Iron nose with a sanguine finish. Mushroom, decaying currant and stones

Big tannins. Shows the vintage. Not sure the fruit will hold up over time.
