A little flabby on the pop but really gained steam over a couple hours in the decanter. Menthol, eucalyptus, lush plum. Plenty of life left.

I love older Montelena. Even in off vintages, there is such pleasure. Balanced and great mouthfeel. I bought this wine in my early days of getting into wine - $30!
