It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a yummy one from a great vintage in Bordeaux.

This is a very enjoyable Left Bank Bordeaux with some nice age.

Showing red and black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf, light oak, vegetables, wet leaves, herbs and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tart pomegranates.

This 24 year old is showing great complexity and mouthfeel at this point. Elegant and tasty.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins.

Robert Parker 90 points.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$120.

The 2nd wine of Chateau Leoville las Cases. Still noticeable cassis with dusty Bordeaux overtones. Waning a little in palate intensity - gradually descending from the plateau. Fine tannins Dry finish. Probably at its best 5 years ago but still very good.
