Saint Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

1981 vintage. Another nice surprise with this estate. Still very much alive.

Heavy presence of new oak stands out with vanilla bean and toasted spices. Ripe blueberries and some tertiary qualities.

I am biased of course but beautiful subtle graphite nose. Firm yet pleasant grip on the tannins

Coffee shop nose. The nose is the star. The palate is very soft and pleasurable.

A Blend of 62% Merlot, 30% Cab Franc & 8% Cab Sauv, deep garnet with medium intensity of black fruits, herbs and mint. On the palate concentrated flavors of baked blackberry and raspberry fruit with notes of tobacco, sage and herbs. Big yet smooth tannins, nicely balanced, long finish, ending with spice and earthy character.

Medium to deep garnet red with fine sediment. Layered nose with dark cocoa, dark red berries, mushrooms, and damp leaves. Medium plus to heavy acidity with medium tannins (6/10). Well balanced with red cherries, mushrooms, truffles and earthy notes on the palate. Medium to medium plus body with a medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2026.

Seemingly much riper, more fruit forward and youthful than the 07. Good, not great.

2006 Lassègue Saint Émilion Grand Cru - drinking nicely with elegant earthy leather and black fruit expressions. Let it breathe for 45 mins and drink now.
