Château dates back to 1560, records suggest it might go back to the 12th century making it one of oldest estates in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC region near Avignon. Ruby with aromas of red fruit. A blend of 37% Grenache, 29% Syrah, 27% Mouvèdre & 7% Cinsault. Aromas of berry fruits, oak and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry and blackberry with hints of oak, leather, vanilla spice and black pepper. Aged in oak (20% new) the wine was complex and elegant with smooth tannins, long finish. Nice!

Did not rate. Sadly cooked because I usually dig LaNerthe. Was a BevMo purchase that was on sale. I have been having bad luck with BevMo bottle quality.

Deep red, rich and full bodied and creamy. Strong cherry & red berries notes on the palate with hints of pepper, vanilla on the nose. Loved!

The Walla Walla Syrah last week was better, but this is still quite good. With Jefferson DBS group.

Generous fruit in a fairly linear style. Lovely drinking without being memorable.
