Vintage 2009 | This is a Pomerol with a certain strictness. We tasted it blind next to a left bank wine but the tasters did not recognize this as a right bank wine. It seems to be made for the long haul, with clear tannines even after 15 years. Good integrated wood with a light vanilla impression.

Vintage 2007 | Plums, leather, cassis, supple taste but also a certain strictness that I do not associate with Pomerol

Classic, sauve tannin, turning tertiary with good bits of primary still hanging in there. Very fragrant and long on the finish.

High concentration medium staining. Dark ruby, Jammy to dried dark cherries, black currants, cassis, licorice/anise, tea leaves, clay, basil, rosemary, all spices, green pepper, mushroom. Low acidity, medium plus tannins - soft and velvety, medium plus body. Medium (plus) oak influences of spices.

What a delicious and lovely nose this wine head. Silky smooth Merlot all of the way. Decanted and left it open for about 30 minutes and I’m not even sure it needed that. Firm with delicate flavors and just enough tannins for structure. Red and blue fruits with lavender and Rosemary notes. Drank this with short ribs that had been cooked sous vide for 24 hours with a red wine, hatch chili powder, salt, pepper, and onion marinade. Included with cream and garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. Lovely lovely wine.
