Château Gruaud Larose
Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend
Ruby garnet. Red fruit and leather on the nose and palate with cola and cassis. Plush velvety tannins. Very nice right now.

Nov 12th, 20222001 vintage. Earthy/mushroom nose. Initially cloudy but stabilized. Surprising amount of front palate richness mated with the famous Gruaud-Larose smooth and lengthy finish. Still has years ahead of solid drinking.

Jun 25th, 2022A smidge disappointed given I’ve had many 2001 Bordeaux I quite like and separately that SJ is my favorite left bank appellation. Just a bit disjointed, with some drying tannins on the finish - definitely drink up if you have these. Still, can’t argue that this is classic Bordeaux and a great pairing with grilled hanger steak.
