The 2012 Grand-Puy-Lacoste is comprised of of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot made by François-Xavier Borie, oenologist Christel Spinner and consulting oenologist Eric Boissenot. The vines at Grand-Puy-Lacoste are 38 years old and are set on gravel soils. The wine needs more than a two hour decant to unveil ripe creme de cassis, anise and graphite flavors with lighter earthy tones. Bright and focused, this is just an infant now. Drink 2022-2040- 93

Lovely cab blend strongly expressing green paper and raspberries note with a body of young tannins. Needs a decade.

Deinking quite well. Not a powerhouse vintage, but is clearly of classified growth quality greater than its 5th designation

Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, cocoa, blackcurrant, cedar, asian spices and wood spice. Very elegant and same time bold in the mouth, complex, good length. This is classical claret at its best. Was decanted 45 minutes before our fois gras and Simmental steak was served. Great stuff. Was our Mother’s day meal.

2012 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 2 hours and after 3 hours. Seemingly simple nose. Light-medium body. Come together-right now-from start to finish. Cocoa powder, cedar, blueberries, tobacco and graphite all figure prominently throughout. Well-knit and pretty damned close to the top of the bell curve along with the backstage pass in the optimal drinking "zone." Not the biggest Pauillac or vintage but firing on all cylinders. Seems like it'll hold tight in this spot with the wheels crimped to curb and the parking brake on for 7-10 years. Grab you some before it decides to drive away.

Really great. Big, some earthy minerality to it with some dark fruit. Not overbearing. Nice with a bone in rib eye.

Recently released directly from the Domaine. Lovely, rich, complex and long. Really delivered, best Grand Puy I have had
