Château Ducasse
White Bordeaux Blend
We always forget about white Bordeaux, and it can be so great, especially with lighter seafood. This one is especially delicate, not oaky at all, and still very fresh and fruity at 6 years old.

On the palate flavors of mango and citrus with slight herbs, vivid acidity, dry. Medium finish ending with fruit and citrus herb character. Drink now!

1 person found it helpfulNov 28th, 2022Nose has warmed lemon peel, lime zest, grassy herbal notes and moist chalk.
Palate has lime peel, tart green apple peel, watermelon rind with a brief finish.
Enjoyable but not as vibrant as our recent experience with the 2013 vintage.
On the sold out (18K+ patrons) Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest Conductor Ken-David Masur is leading a 90th birthday celebration of John Williams. BSO soloists tonight are J. Williams Hudgins (vibraphone) & Jessica Zhou (harp), joined by Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Branford Marsalis (saxophone), Eric Revis (bass) and James Taylor (vocals/guitar). A truly wonderful night lay ahead, and my money is certainly on hearing at least one or two Star Wars movements this evening...

Nose has green melon rind, over-ripe peach, orange pith, pink salt slab, golden raisins, dehydrated apricots and celery leaf; Improvement with extended air.
Palate has dried lemon, candied pineapple, warm clementine orange wedge, peach skin, dehydrated peach, wet sand, medium acidity and finish.
This bottle is in a nice spot today, but not up to par with the Ch. La Rame (outstanding showing) today.
$14 Jul 2015; buy and cellar inexpensive Bordeaux Blanc, be very happy later when the acidity settles...
Hold future bottles 2023-25.
