The nose was much more expressive than the palate showing a mixture of just ripened black fruit, gravel, pencil shavings, flowers, and cedar. The palate was medium bodied and slightly austere. Med finish. #chateaudugrandbos #graves #bordeaux #ctbucklinwine

Old school Bordeaux. Deep black currant, tannins, cedar, a little brett. Healthy little bit of PV here. Good stuff.

Give it some time to open up - it will reward your patience. Classic Bordeaux - NOT over extracted or over oaked, a non inconsequential dose of "good Brett"cloves, and layers of dried fruit, cassis, plum, and forest floor. Now is the time to drink this wine - it should hold for a few years but I don't expect much further improvement.

Amazing. Last few (meat) courses of a tasting menu and goes unbelievably well with duck AND lamb!
