Tart, acerbic, with unbalanced oak... completely uncharacteristic of the 2015 vintage. Something went very wrong in the production of this wine. Costco fail, but better on Day 2. Perfect bright red Burgundy color and intensity.

Jan 12th, 2019Session 2 of Wine Essentials One at the Institute of Culinary Education Center for Wine Studies.
A delicate Côte de Beaune 1er Cru red Burgundy from the Montée Rouge vineyard. It is clear that this wine is meant for aging, as this is still a baby. Intense color with a heavier viscosity. Fresh, young bouquet of cherry, plum, earth and spices. One can smell the soil on the nose. Firm, fairly sturdy tannins, with forest floor flavors and tastes of dark cherry and vanilla.
