Château de Saint-Cosme
Hominis Fides Gigondas Grenache
Saturated ruby-red. This is deeply perfumed, smoke- and mineral-accented and Chambord-like. Cherry, blueberry, potpourri and exotic spice aromas show fine definition. Alluringly sweet and expansive on the palate, offering impressively concentrated yet energetic red and dark berry preserve, fruitcake and lavender pastille flavors, with hints of licorice and botanical herbs. The extremely long, penetrating finish shows an intense mineral cut, an echo of sappy red fruit and well-judged tannins that come in late. These vines were planted in 1902. One-third new oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023)

Jan 20th, 2023Deep, brilliant magenta. Powerful, spice-accented aromas of ripe dark berries, cherry-cola, lavender, pungent herbs and licorice are energized by a smoky mineral top note. Densely packed and concentrated, offering intense, alluringly sweet blueberry, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors that show superb detail and mineral cut. Finishes with resonating florality, youthfully gripping tannins and outstanding, mineral-driven tenacity. All whole clusters and one-third new oak. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023)

In a beautiful place tonight! Pure deep, dark meaty blackberry fruit, powerful yet elegant with tons of high-toned mineral notes. A perfect partner with a Father’s Day ribeye!

Sep 29th, 2018Utterly captivating. An benchmark wine from what will be a classic vintage. Clean and sleek, with and inky blue flavor that almost reminds me of Petite Sirah. Subtle gaminess and a freshness that seems to persist long after the wine seemingly finishes.
