Côtes du Rhône Syrah

Cute little building on the label. Lovely red, red wine color. Smells like I imagine the warm, dry hills of the Rhône must smell. Hint of red berries. Some chaparral stuff (or garrigue as they call it over the pond). Flavors are classic and very clean. Berry jam, fresh cut herbs, beets, little smoke, black licorice. This is a lovely little bottle of red. Crowd pleasing yet complex. The Paul Simon of wines.

Great balanced and affordable Syrah. Extremely food-friendly

Current and blackberry on the nose. Pepper, oak, dark fruits like current and a bit of plum to an oaky vanilla finish. Earthy tannins. Perhaps it needs a few more years to develop.

Nice all around wine, deep dark purplish red in color. Nose is a little tight, but the flavor is all there. Dark fruit with a little spice and dry finish. Holds up well to grilled and spicy foods.

WS Top Values for this year so tried it and also because I love Syrah. Cherry notes are prevalent but not a fruit bomb like some American versions. Smooth finish. Would get again.

Pretty good for the price but missing depth

100% Syrah at a CDR price. Just a great every day wine.
