JT Costières-de-Nîmes Syrah Mourvédre

Scents of black and purple fruit with blackberry, plum, black cherry, and a bit of garrigue. Dark flavors of black cherry, tar, coffee, earth, and firm tannins. This is relatively high alcohol at 14.5%, but wears it well. Long, dark, finish with drying tannins.

4/21/8/4/4 +50 = 91 pts.

2011 - needs an hr or so for the funk to blow off, but once it does, as usual, one of the wine world's great values

Intense blackberry fruit with licorice, spice, and lavender and a racy finish. With air this takes on a more northern feel with warm stone notes, retaining its well developed black fruit and dry spice finish.

Hearty Syrah-Mourvèdre blend that was juicy enough for the diverse flavors at Thanksgiving. But I think it would have preferred a meatier meal.

Dark ruby in color with a light red rim.
On the Nose, wild herbs, blackberries, plums and flowers.

Dry on the Palate and fruity with cherries, blackberries and plums.

Medium bodied with Nice legs.

Long finish with lots of black peppercorn and big full tannings.

A nice, organic, blend of 86% Sirah and 14% Mourvedre.

Aged in french oak and cement (50%) tanks for 12 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

Deep ruby color.
Aromas of rose, violet, blackberry.
Dry. Flavors of violet, rose, blackberry, peppercorn. Medium-rich, chewy tannins. Very floral!

Surprisingly good. From Total Wine in Towson. Didn’t know it was $25. Strong dark berry flavor. Moderate tannin.

Enjoyed would drink again and again.
