Inky black wine- held against a light you only get a glimmer. Nose of bitter orange peel and forest moss. After that it's smoked cherries, and more cherries. So much supple fruit, with sufficient acid to make it sing. Good beef and lamb wine, tonight.

When you find a 2008 minervois at total wine, buried amongst lirac and such, for twenty bucks, go for it. Plump, fat, bacon, lard.
