Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend

Not the deepest or most complex but a fitting end to a great family dinner. Honeyed apricot nose. Great balance but not a lot of complexity.

Strong pineapple at this point. Needs more time to integrate.

Medium body , great with fois gras. Ready to drink.

Drank with blueberry cheesecake at broken bow with the smiths. Really light but excellent. Not cloying at all. Lighter than other d’Arche, but really like with the cheesecake.

Second try of this … impressions somewhat different, though similar score.


NOSE: custard, almond…apricot…flan…French pastry. Canned peaches. Honeysuckle. Butterscotch - quite clearly.

TASTE: butterscotch and apricot. Tastes older than it is…though a little simple for a Sauternes. 91-92.
