2022 vintage. Owned by the Estager family since 1902. Not easy to find info, it seems to be an estate with 32 hectares of vines, planted with 50% Merlot, and equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A bit shy on the nose.Good concentration, not very complex, a little more extracted and less refined compared to Petit Bocq 2022 tasted alongside. Good value though, and the 15% abv. goes unnoticed.

Dark ruby. Medium nose of oak and dark fruit. Clarity of oak and acid and fruit, balanced, well integrated oak with long finish. Medium body, fine tannins. A little bramble from black currant notes, forest and earth underneath. Dark and elegant.

More dark fruit notes (ripe plum, cherries, dark berries) along with less earth, acidity, and leather notes compared to the D’Arsac. Still a medium bodied wine. Again, required +2hrs of decanting to fully open up.

Great find on SommSelect. Quite fresh for 13 years old. Nose of cherry, dried herbs, and subtle touch of rose petals. Fruit forward mid-palate with cranberries, Strawberries, bramble, and graphite on the finish. Easy drinking and great QPR.
